Editing Logo Colors
My Free Logo Maker lets you customize colors to your heart’s content — our design engine also has rules around color contrast and pairing, to ensure the designs we generate and suggest for you look good.
You can change the color of the background, fonts, symbols, containers, and slogans.
Changing the logo background color
Click Background in the left menu. From here, you can explore color options by clicking a color swatch (e.g. blue) under Background Options and scrolling down until you see one you like.
If you want to select a color or use a custom hex code, go to the color picker — the small circle to the top left of the logo you’re editing. From here, you can toggle and click to explore color options, or enter a custom hex code. The color picker will also show you recent colors used.
Changing the logo font color
Click the company name in your logo or go to the Name section in the left menu. Under Name Options at the top of the page, click Colors. From here, you can explore color options by clicking a color swatch (e.g. blue) and scrolling down.

Click Slogan in the left menu. Under Slogan Options at the top of the page, click Colors. From here, you can explore color options by clicking a color swatch (e.g. blue) and scrolling down.

Exploring logo color palette options and variations
Go to the Palette section in the left menu of the logo editor to see different color schemes. You can change color schemes by clicking Change under Palette Options — choose from Professional, Classic, Calm, Energetic, Sophisticated, Organic, and Quirky.
Adding custom colors/hex codes (using the color picker)
You can add custom hex codes using the color picker in the logo editor — the small circle to the top left of the logo you’re editing. From here, you can toggle and click to explore color options, or enter a custom hex code. The color picker will also show you recent colors used.
Adding gradients and metallics
You can add gradients using the color picker in the logo editor — the small circle to the top left of the logo you’re editing. Click the color picker and you should see a heading that says Gradients, where you can select from a variety of colors, including metallics.
Undoing changes
You can undo changes at any time by clicking the Undo button at the top of the editor. You can also choose History in the left menu to see recent iterations of the logo you’ve been editing.
If you’re working with a logo design you like, but want to keep trying other options, click Make a Copy at the top of the editor screen to save your current iteration of a design.
