Editing Logo Layouts and Shapes
My Free Logo Maker generates a variety of layout ideas for your logo, depending on the length of your company name, your symbol, and if you have a slogan or not.
You can explore and change layouts by going to the Layout section in the left menu. Under Layout Options at the top left of the page, you’ll be able to scroll through a variety of designs that use the existing font and symbol elements you’ve chosen.
Using stacked text
To try out a stacked-text layout, click the company name on the logo you’re editing (which will take you into the Name section).
In the top menu above your logo, you’ll see your company name in a text box. Click Stack beside the text box, then type the text you want on the second line and click Update.
If you want to add more words to your company name, you can also do that in this Name text field.
Changing symbol position
Click the symbol or go to the Symbol section in the left menu. Above the logo, you’ll see a Position button, as well as a set of icons with a dot and a line. Use the Position button to adjust the symbol in relation to your logo text. Use the icon buttons to change where your symbol appears in relation to your logo text: on top, to the left, to the right, or below.
Changing slogan position
Click Slogan in the left menu. You’ll see a Position button above your logo — click this and use the toggle to move your slogan to the right or left, or up and down.
Adding a container (shape) to your logo
Want to put your logo in a circle, rectangle, square or other shape? To try out this layout, go to Container in the left menu of the logo editor to see different container options.
You can change container types (e.g. filled, outline, elegant, modern) by clicking Change under Suggested Containers. Filled containers have a solid-color background (different than the full background color of the logo), while outline containers keep the same color background as the full logo, and just add an outline shape around the text.
Undoing changes
You can undo changes at any time by clicking the Undo button at the top of the editor. You can also choose History in the left menu to see recent iterations of the logo you’ve been editing.
If you’re working with a logo design you like, but want to keep trying other options, click Make a Copy at the top of the editor screen to save your current iteration of a design.
